# CDXVII…Final Excerpt Before Monday…

The title refers to the fact that this date, July 23rd, hasn’t been covered, which I have been covering this year with little snippets from my book (releasing on the Kindle and Kindle family of apps this Monday…spread the word, please?)  This date is no different, as I now present to you the last book-created post (unless I get too lazy in the near future)…

# cv…He Only Needs One Name…

Today, July 23rd, is the birthday of former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash (1965), whose career in the industry pretty much put the band on the map from the awesome opening of the classic “Sweet Child O’ Mine”.  His performances on the band’s first five albums cemented their place in metal’s upper echelon of superstars.

He also has, currently, his “Slash’s Snakepit”, which is also a showcase for the man’s diverse and unique playing style and last worked with superstar musician Myles Kennedy as well as minor collaborations with other stars.  He is a well-respected but never duplicated icon in the business and we wish him many happy more!

Since he has a LOT of birthday twins, let’s get started; late baseball icon Pee Wee Reese (1918-1999), late actor/game show host Bert Convy (1933-1991), late Dodgers’ legend Don Drysdale (1936-1993), actor Ronny Cox {“Robocop”, among others} (1938), radio icon Don Imus (1940), actress Edie McClurg (1951), actor Woody Harrelson (1961) and actor Eriq LaSalle was born in 1962.

Also, celebrating are/were; late actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman (1967-2014), comedian Marlon Wayans (1972), former political “scandal” Monica Lewinsky (1973), former wrestler Sonny Siaki (1974), Destiny’s Child songstress Michelle Williams (1980), “The Vampire Diaries” co-star Paul Wesley {“Stefan”} (1987) and the everlasting and ubiquitous “Harry Potter”, Mr. Daniel Radcliffe was born in 1989.

Thank you again for coming…it means a lot, trust me, because I do this solely because of my love of writing…and teaching…

P.S.:  As I don’t have the type of capital that is required to advertise in more “convenient” ways, like on the TV, radio or in the papers, social media has become my way of “spreading the news”.  That having been said, I sinceriously (thank you, Stephen Amell) request, if you can, that you share, retweet, etc., as it would be greatly appreciated!
