# CXXXVII…Honoring an Icon…

On this date in 1948, the legend that was to become known as Ozzy Osbourne was born in the area of Birmingham, England known as Aston…and no one would realize on that day of the iconic legend that he would become.  Throughout a life filled with dealing with adverse conditions, he would persevere and prosper to become the honored gentleman that he is today.  Celebrating his 65th birthday today, Ozzy is currently on tour with the band that made him a legend, Black Sabbath, with his good friends; fellow southpaw Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and former Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk.

I mention that only due to the fact that, on the recent tour for the Number One smash, “13”, some of my family members actually got to see this pioneer perform.  In my defense, however, I also got to experience him live…at OzzFest 2006, along with some of my other favorites (like System of a Down, Disturbed and Lacuna Coil, among others) and I hope to catch the show when he comes back to The States in 2014…fingers crossed for that one!!!

Also, it occurs to me to be an ironic coincidence that, if you’ve read my post on “thelefthandedmusicbydal” (.wordpress.com) for December 3, you would also know that today would have been my 15th wedding anniversary…note the past tense…my fault…AND owned up to it YEARS ago…

To Mr. Osbourne, on your 65th birthday, I wish you many happy more…
