# CCCLXVIII…Smoke If You Got ‘Em…

The only reason that the title of this post exists is thanks, in part, to rap star Snoop Dogg, who was born on October 20, 1971 in Long Beach, CA.  As many already know, the artist known (at any given time) as Snoop Dogg, Snoop Lion or Snoopzilla has a very strong penchant for the consuming of everyone’s favorite recreational drug, marijuana.

The above fact, however, doesn’t diminish the fact that, since 1992, this award-winning collaborator has produced thirteen solo albums, is a movie and television star and the fact that he is still around in an industry plagued (like rock-n-roll) by so many untimely deaths…we will smoke in his honor (maybe) and wish him many happy more!

Also celebrating today are/were; late horror legend Bela Lugosi (1882-1956), late actress Arlene Francis (1907-2001), late Yankee Stadium announcer Bob Sheppard (1910-2010), late psychologist Dr. Joyce Brothers (1927-2013), late Yankees’ legend Mickey Mantle (1931-1995) and late “Law and Order” co-star (and “Dirty Dancing” father) Jerry Orbach (1935-2004).

On the list, as well, are/were; late veteran actor Earl Hindman (1942-2003), guitarist and rock legend Tom Petty (1950), former New York Met Keith Hernandez (1953), English director/producer Danny Boyle (1956), wrestlers Dave “Fit” Finlay (1958) and Scott Hall (1958), actor Viggo Mortensen (1958), “The Karate Kid” antagonist Willam Zabka (1965) and wrestler Chavo Guerrero, Jr. was born in 1970.

I’ll be back soon…dunno when, though, as my “project” needs to be finished…until then…
