# CCLXIX…A Late American TV Idol…

Just recently, on November 14, 2014, the world lost one of its true geniuses in the television world, due to the death of Glen A. Larson (1937-2014), the brilliant man behind such American classics as Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century, Magnum P.I., The Fall Guy, Knight Rider, and Manimal (which, in my opinion, with today’s technology, could be BETTER than the original!)

The reason that I brought those particular shows on the list is because, during my upbringing, they were some of my more enjoyable escapisms.  Without the birth of Mr. Larson in 1937, the world could have been a very dark place.

Also, speaking of brilliant writers, today would have been the birthday of J.R.R. Tolkien, whose “Hobbit” novels are just flying off the shelves (1892-1973); late Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams (1923-2013), Super Bowl-winning Hank Stram (1923-2005), legendary actor Robert Loggia (1930), comedian/actor Dabney Coleman (1932), former Winnipeg Jets’ star Bobby Hull {the original team, not Version 2.0} was born in 1939, Stephen Stills, from Crosby, Stills and Nash, joined us in 1945.

The Who’s bassist John Paul Jones (1946), veteran actress Victoria Principal (1950), actor/director/pariah Mel Gibson (1954) and Super Bowl teammates Eli Manning (1981) and David Tyree (1980) finish the list for today.

Hope you enjoyed this post…if your interested, please let me know…you CAN speak, I hope…because, as is with all writers, feedback could make a difference!  Thank you and now back to reality.
