# CCLXVII…For “Lana Lang”…

This post, on the penultimate day of 2014, is to celebrate the 32nd birthday of vivacious actress Kristin Kreuk (1982), the talented and brilliant actress who graced our small screens for ten years as Lana Lang on the hit TV series, Smallville.  Her style of acting is sort of reminiscent of a lot of comic book actresses…damsel-in-distress to start but, when it comes down to brass tax, she can believably hold her own without a knight in shining armor.

Although she was virtually unknown when she was cast as “Lana”, she has had a couple of movie roles since Smallville finished its decade-long run.  She is also currently starring in the series Beauty and the Beast (although, to be honest, I haven’t watched it, as I cannot picture her seriously as anyone else!)

Also, born on this date, are; late actor Jack Lord from the original “Hawaii Five-O” (1920-1998), late blues great Bo Diddley (1928-2008), late rocker Del Shannon (1934-1990), former MLB great Sandy Koufax (1935), The Monkees’ Michael Nesmith (1942) AND frontman Davy Jones (1945), veteran actor Fred Ward (1942), and ELO frontman (and Traveling Wilbury) Jeff Lynne, who also produced a couple of albums by the previously mentioned Del Shannon, was born in 1947.

Also celebrating today are TV host Meredith Vieira (1957), journalist Matt Laurer (1957), comedian Tracey Ullman (1959), professional golf icon Tiger Woods (1975), baseball star (and actor and sometime wrestler) A.J. Pierzynski (1976), boxer and famous child Leila Ali (1977) and egocentric NBA star Lebron James was born in 1984.

As this is my last post for this exceptional year for my view counter, I will relate to you that I will be posting for the foreseeable future…unless a paying writing job can surface (either by my own hands or if someone asks)…Thank you all for a wonderful and surprising year!!!
