In 2012, after five months of blogging at “thelefthandedviewofmusicbydal”, I decided that the title of the blog prompted a change. So, two days after my post about my nephew (which was updated on the current blog), I decided to change the name to something a little easier to remember. Thus, it was on this date, December 20, 2012, that “Dal’s Music Note$” was created.
In the two years since the change was made, I have made countless attempts to expand the viewership…I have a ton of “business cards”, which I hand out every chance I get, I am available on most social media, and word-of-mouth from my current “fan base” is going extremely well. Over the past year, though, this blog has exceeded even my expectations, which keeps growing as my view counter climbs to new heights.
Although I have increased the number of posts per month (compared to the beginning), I still haven’t reached my full potential, but, with a little bit more time and some patience to delve into more posting options (pictures, videos, etc.), I am sure that it will become better. The only reason that I haven’t done that (in case you are just jumping on and are unaware) is because of my “career”; almost 26 years of working in the import/export community, which takes up chunks of my time!
Highlights from this past year include; Posts #s CLIX, CCL, and CCLVIII (my trifecta about the awesome band The Birthday Massacre); Post # CCXXX (the Sonata Arctica/Delain show from September, where I got the headliners’ autographs); Post # CCXXVIII (my coverage of Alice Cooper/Motley Crüe); and, of course, Post # CCXVI, which was the post after RockStar Mayhem concert in August.
Without further ado, I would like to thank ALL of the people who take the time to read these little snippets of my insanity…hopefully, with a little perseverance, I can continue and upgrade this blog. Aside from my two beautiful children, this blog is one of the very few bright spots in my life and, in the future, could become my legacy!
As always, I thank all of my “fans”…without you, I would still be languishing in darkness…as a writer, it continues to be a humbling experience!
