# CCLVII…”Oldest Living Teenager”…

Unless you’ve been living under a rock or are just too young to remember, the title of today’s post can only refer to one person…the late, great music industry icon, Dick Clark (1929-2012), whose most notable accomplishment (for the younger generation) was the fact that he hosted “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ Eve” since forever.  However, his musical prowess also includes “American Bandstand”, which also ran for quite a spell in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

He was a very influential person in starting or advancing the careers of other great icons, such as Ike and Tina Turner, Simon and Garfunkel, Talking Heads, etc. and his love of music is still unrivaled to this day.

He is an icon whose legacy will live forever…

Also on this date were the following birthday celebrators…late author Mark Twain (1835-1910), late Prime Minister Winston Churchill {whose iconic voice appears in the Within Temptation song “Our Solemn Hour”} (1874-1965), late actor Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. (1918-2014), late African-American icon Shirley Chisholm (1924-2005), former Benson star Robert Guillaume (1927) and iconic director Ridley Scott (“Alien”, “Blade Runner”, etc.) was born in 1937.

Finishing today’s list are New York comic writer (“Lobo”, “Justice League”, etc.) Keith Giffen (1952), rock and roll icon Billy Idol (1955), comedian Colin Mochrie (1957), dual sport superstar Bo Jackson (1962), comedian Ben Stiller (1965), former WWE superstar (now with Impact Wrestling aka TNA) Christian was born in 1973, “American Idol” runner-up Clay Aiken (1978) and actress/comedian Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) was born in 1985.

With eleven months down, December comes tomorrow…I will be here sporadically (as usual) but will let you know when I can…
