Although today’s title is a term used in computer science, it can also be used to describe the political system in this once-great country. Just like the word “insanity” is further defined as “doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results”, the archaic practice of electing officials who have no other purpose but self-satisfaction needs a facelift. The fact that we’re still tolerating the nonsense of the elected government officials who do nothing for the people that elect them is ridiculous.
I am taking the late, great George Carlin’s stand…although I will not be voting, I will have every right to complain…I did the same thing you did on Election Day, except when I got done jerking off, I still had money in my pocket and a clear conscience!”
Today’s birthday list includes late newscaster Walter Cronkite (1916-2009), late comedian Art Carney (1918-2003), actress Doris Roberts (“Everybody Loves Raymond”) was born in 1925, comedienne Loretta Swit, who played Hot Lips in the old TV series of MASH (1937), former First Lady Barbara Bush (1946), and actress Markie Post (“The Fall Guy” and “Night Court”) was born in 1950.
Current Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess was born in 1956, comedienne Kathy Griffin (1960), actor Ralph Macchio (1961), late nu metal star Wayne Static (1965-2014), rap guru Sean Combs (1969), actor Matthew McConaughey (1969), and former Chicago Bear (now Atlanta Falcon) star Devin Hester was born in 1982.
In closing, I hope that all the voters don’t complain too much when the political paradigm shifts to the Republicans…but if you have thought that Barack Obama was bad, wait for his predecessor!
