This post is to inform you that today, October 7, would have been the 68th birthday of a person whom will always be near to my heart, my late mother-in-law, Eileen. A gentle soul with a kind heart, she never had a bad word to say…unless you put down her favorite team, as she was a die-hard Yankees fan. Most of my memories of her include the fact that she would rib on me (all in good manners) because I jumped ship to become a Red Sox fan. She was a woman that took no nonsense from her son or from any of the grand kids, as she had been through a lot in her life.
I could go on but, in regards to the fact that she is no longer here, I will keep it short…
A gentle soul who was taken earlier than she should have been…RIP Eileen, you deserve it and say hi to Billy Martin and The Babe…
In celebration of the birthday twins, we start the list with South African archbishop Desmond Tutu (1931), comedian/former talk show host (“The View”) Joy Behar (1942), former military pariah Oliver North (1943), Indiana’s resident rocker, John Mellencamp, was born in 1951, current Russian President Vladimir Putin (1952) and media mogul Simon Cowell was born in 1959.
Also on the list are R & B singing star Toni Braxton (1967), current TNA wrestler and ECW/WWE hardcore member Rhino (1975), Oakland Raiders’ mainstay Charles Woodson (1976) and acting twins Aaron Ashmore (Jimmy Olsen from “Smallville”) and Shawn Ashmore (Bobby Drake/Iceman from the X-Men movies) were born in 1979.
