# CCXL (240)…Anne Rice, A True American Idol…

For those who are unfamiliar with the name, Anne Rice, who was born on this date in 1941, deserves this post as one of my two favorite authors who have had the deepest impact in regards to wanting to continue my writing (the other being the late Dr. Isaac Asimov).  Her ability to paint a picture in words is unsurpassed by many and, if you’ve read ANY of the “Interview With a Vampire” novels or her other writings as A.N. Roquelaure, you would realize that she truly is a gifted individual with a penchant to pique your imagination.

Also, as a native of my personal “sister” city of New Orleans (never been but, as a Saints fan for 25 years, would love to see in the future), her descriptive writings about the city and its rich and storied history are second to none!  She is, and always will be, a muse for this aspiring writer and I wish her nothing more than many happy more birthdays.

Celebrating with her are late actor Charleton Heston (1923-2008), actress Susan Sarandon, who (in case you’re under a rock) starred in the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”, among others (1946), WWF/E matriarch Linda McMahon (1948), actor Armand Assante (1949), actor Bill Fagerbakke (hit series “Coach” AND the voice of Patrick Starfish in “Spongebob Squarepants”, among others) was born in 1957, and Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons was also born in 1957.

Japanese illustrator Kazuki Takahashi, who created the ever-popular Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, was born in 1961, multi-platinum artist Jon Secada (1962), actor Liev Schreiber (former Sabretooth and currently playing “Ray Donovan” on the hit series) was born in 1967, TNA Wrestling’s hardcore icon Abyss turns 41 today (still kicking a**, born in 1973), the beautiful and talented Alicia Silverstone was born in 1976, and up-and-coming actress Dakota Johnson, who will be starring in the movie adaptation of the ubiquitous Fifty Shades of Grey, was born in 1989.

With the 2000 view milestone surpassed, I thank you all and…
