The reason for the weird title is because I couldn’t think of anything clever dealing with today’s birthday celebrators, which is such a hodgepodge of names that don’t actually have anything to do with each other (besides sharing today as their birthday). The “new plateau” line, however, is due to the fact that I am fast approaching a new milestone; 2000 views for this blog, which I started in December 2012.
Before listing today’s names, I would like to thank my “fans”, friends, and family for giving me the courage to keep this thing going…although at times, I would like to just cut it off, which would disappoint a lot of people, including myself!
Celebrating their birthday today, October 1, are; late actor Walter Matthau (1920-2000), former President Jimmy Carter (1924), late “Happy Days” patriarch Tom Bosley, aka Mr. Cunningham (1927-2010), late “A-Team” star George Peppard (1928-1994), “The Sound of Music”‘s Julie Andrews (1935), and Herb Fame, who was part of the group Peaches & Herb, was born in 1942.
Also on the list are MLB Hall of Famer Rod Carew (1945), “7th Heaven” patriarch and “Revolution” grandpa, Stephen Collins (1947), veteran actor Randy Quaid (the abducted guy from “Independence Day”) was born in 1950, actor Esai Morales of “La Bamba”, among others, was born in 1962, baseball pariah Mark McGwire (1963) and comedian Zach Galifianakis was born in 1969.
Before I go, in case you’re still here…as of this writing, I finished September with 142 views (down 106 from my record in August) and had a mini-streak of 28 days killed (remember, I had a major streak of 135 days earlier this year? Okay, didn’t think so but…)
