The quotes around the word “Happy” in today’s post for one of the two lights in my life, my daughter Erin (born at 3:51 PM in the Year of the Dragon 2000), refers to one of her birthday celebrants, Pharrell Williams, whose ubiquitous song from the “Dispicable Me 2” movie almost won him an award. That having been said, I don’t know much else about him that’s worth mentioning except that he has two groups that he also fronts…The Neptunes and NERD…but his music is lost to me as I don’t follow that genre.
Moving on with the long list for today (which will incorporate most of last year’s post), she also celebrates with late actor Spencer Tracy (1900-1967), late actress Bette Davis (1908-1989), multi-talented actor Gregory Peck (1916-2003), “Roots” author Arthur Hailey (1920-2004), * director Roger Corman, who directed “Little Shop of Horrors” 1960 version (1926), the former Riddler from the ’60s Batman TV show, Frank Gorshin (1933-2005), and former General Colin Powell was born in 1937.
* The brother of the late Johnny Cash and musician in his own right, Mr. Tommy Cash, was born in 1940, * former “Law & Order” star Michael Moriarty (1941), former singer for The Hollies, Allan Clarke was born in 1942, late astronaut Judith Resnick (1949-1986), and * ABBA singer Agnetha Faltskog was born in 1950.
Finishing the list are: “The X-Files” star Mitch Pileggi (1952), former WWE/WCW star Diamond Dallas Page (1956), * the previously mentioned Pharrell Williams (1973), * actress Hayley Atwell (from both Captain America movies) was born in 1982, and Ric Flair’s daughter, Ashley Fliehr, was born in 1986.
[Author’s note: all entries with (*) are new to the list, in case you didn’t grasp that LOL]
On a personal level, I would just like to wish my teenager a very happy birthday and I hope all of her wishes come true…Ruvs her (little in-joke) and I am more than “happy” that she is in my life…
