In case you didn’t read last year’s post (# 73 or LXXIII), there were only two names mentioned for April 3rd last year…the late Criss Oliva (former lead singer of the symphonic metal pioneers Savatage), who was born in 1963 and former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach, who was born in 1968. These two names evoked the most awesome of flashbacks, as I also mentioned because of their proximity to my late teens. In doing so, however, I left a lot of equally (if not more so) famous names off the list.
In my usually odd way, I would like to start the list with a name most of you should be familiar with; veteran actress Doris Day celebrates her 92nd birthday (born in 1922), late “Godfather” star Marlon Brando (1924-2004), late astronaut Gus Grissom (1926-1967), and Jan Berry, the late founder of the late ’50s group Jan and Dean (1941-2004).
Moving on to the elite names; Wayne Newton was born in 1942, Tony Orlando (you need to be hit with the rock you’ve been living under) was born in 1944, the ubiquitous Alec Baldwin was born in 1958, David Hyde Pierce, whom you may recall from “Frasier”, came to us in 1959, and the very talented comedian extraordinaire Eddie Murphy was born in 1961.
Rounding out the list are skier Picabo Street (1971), “Beverly Hills 90210” star Jennie Garth (1972), former Viking (but current Chicago Bears) defensive superstar Jared Allen (1982), singer Leona Lewis (1985), and comedienne Amanda Bynes was born in 1986.
With my 1000th view on the immediate horizon, I would like to thank you all again for listening…it is not for monetary gain but for personal satisfaction that I continue here. Besides, I said I would take this to a whole new level and I will…I just have to tend to my career and that is why it takes a while!
