Today’s title refers, of course, to the iconic movie phrase used by one of today’s celebrants, the late Sir Alec Guiness (1914-2000), who uttered those words in the classic Star Wars franchise (back before CGI ruined the storyline). Of his six decade career, in which he also won an Academy Award for “Bridge on the River Kwai” in 1957, however, he will forever be known for his portrayal of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and will be missed.
Also, today is the birthdays of: former TV detective Barnaby Jones, Mr. Buddy Ebsen (1908-2003), former singing great Marvin Gaye (1939-1984), radio personality Doctor Demento (1941), veteran actress Linda Hunt from NCIS: L.A. (1945), as well as former baseball veterans Reggie Smith and Don Sutton (also 1945), and country music icon Emmylou Harris was born in 1947.
Finishing today’s short post are “Law & Order: SVU” star Christopher Meloni (1961), civil rights activist Rodney King (1965-2012), Smash Mouth singer Greg Camp (1967) and former game show diva and wrestler Leyla Milani (“Deal or No Deal”) was born in 1982.
It seems that I will be passing 1000 views this month…so, until then…
