As this day on the calendar is usually marred by the fact that “Et tu, Brute?” became the final question from Julius Caesar’s mouth, I just wanted to bring to your attention the fact that it is also the birthday of former Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider (1955) and of Poison frontman Bret Michaels (1963). Of course, I bring these two names to the forefront of today’s post just because I grew up listening to both bands’ ruling of the airwaves…back before music became undeniably boring and bubblegum. I have hoped that this blog will change that…it seems to be okay so far.
Anyway, other birthday celebrators include: Beach Boys singer/songwriter Mike Love (1941), wrestling icon The Iron Sheik (1943), Sly Stone (of Sly and the Family Stone) was born in 1943, baseball journeyman Bobby Bonds (yes, Barry’s Dad) [1946-2003], former Cleveland Browns’ linebacker Clay Matthews, Jr. (1956), former Yankee third baseman Mike Pagliarulo (who I admired as a fan, back then) was born in 1960, ’80’s superstar Terence Trent D’Arby (who had a couple of smashes) in 1962, and one-hit wonder Rockwell [remember “Somebody’s Watchin’ Me” with Michael Jackson guest-starring?] was born in 1964.
While I’m trying to plan the numbers of these posts, I also must tell you that research is almost complete for bringing you brand-new music that you will all enjoy. Without giving you too much, I will just say that this blog is worldwide…now viewed in 25 countries…and have been conversing with someone from a place other than the U.S. It should just push this to where I need it to be…the beginnings of a new career…but we’ll see.
Until then, /,,,/ ROCK ON DUDEZ \,,,\
