# CLXII…Don’t Panic and Don’t Worry, Be Happy…

In this late edition of Dal’s Music Notes, I would like to bring to your attention the reason for the double pun as a title.  The reason for that is the fact that it is the birthday of Bobby McFerrin (1950), whom you may remember had a smash hit with the second phrase, and of the author of the “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” series of books, the late Douglas Adams (1952-2001), who turned a novel idea and turned it into literary greatness, which included the catchphrase, “Don’t Panic”.

Also, my 120th post on this blog (which is triple the size of thelefthandedviewofmusicbydal.wordpress.com) is also to let you know of the others that celebrate this day (in case you’re interested); former big band leader Lawrence Welk (1903-1992), journalist mogul Rupert Murdock (1931), veteran newsanchor Sam Donaldson (1934), actor and video star (Twisted Sister’s “I Wanna Rock” among others) Mark Metcalf [he was the evil principal…”A Twisted Sister pin…on your uniform!!!”] was born in 1946, voice actor Rob Paulsen and 80’s pariah Joey Buttafuoco (1956), and veteran actor Elias Koteas, who played Casey Jones in the first TMNT movie was born in 1961.

Big gigantic metal horns go out to Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul, born on this day in 1964…Happy 50th and ROCK ON!!!

Also, veteran actor (Torchwood, Doctor Who, Arrow, etc.) John Barrowman turns 47 (1967) and, without making your eyes bleed too much longer, author Christopher Rice (the son of my favorite vampire authoress) was born in 1978.

Thank you again for listening…
