Greetings and salutations from the left…
I just thought I’d post my thoughts on the upcoming event on my horizon. As a big metal fan, I’ve always appreciated good rhythms and all different aspects of the genre. Everything from Viking metal to symphonic I have pretty much enjoyed in my long time on this planet. However, if it were not for the band that is opening up (much to my personal displeasure) the show tomorrow at Roseland Ballroom, I probably would have never been interested.
Ever since their first album, “The Legacy” (which is an awesome classic, BTW), I have been banging my head like the lunatic I’ve become. Their impressive riffs and dark metal roots are what impressed me the most in the beginning…that and the fact that Chuck Billy’s vocals are truly eerie, in the sense that he can growl and serenade you in the same song! I mean, they’re not Number 6 on my list for nothing!
It should also be noted, beforehand, that I do appreciate the other two bands on the lineup. As a matter of fact, my friend Mike Reinke actually introduced me to the death metal geniuses Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage…which, in my eyes, is a rare “triple treat” for me.
On a side note, I just wanted to let those of you keeping score to know that another “odd” country has entered the list…welcome to whoever you are in Saudi Arabia.
