# CXIX…A post for a great friend…

Today, August 19th, just happens to be the 41st (sorry, dude) birthday of a very good, close friend of mine who doesn’t live in my area…but one that will always be close to my heart, my friend Shawn Smith.  Growing up in “the hood”, Shawn and I were the best of friends…cajoling along through life, taking our bumps and bruises, laughing and crying…hell, through unforeseen circumstances, the man actually fulfilled my wish of having him as my best man…And, though miles and years now separate us, he will always be as close to my heart as ever.

It is with great honor and pride that I present to you, my readers, with a celebrity post in his honor…Starting this round with the 1919 birth of Malcolm Forbes (1919-1990), followed by the birth of science fiction guru Gene Roddenberry (1921-1991), former Yankee great Bobby Richardson was born in 1935, “Star Trek: The Next Generation” medic Diana Muldaur (Dr. Pulaski, LOL) was born in 1938, Cream drummer Ginger Baker was born on this day in 1939, and Deep Purple singer Ian Gillian turns 68 today (1945).

Also on the list is (in case you haven’t heard) former President and southpaw Bill Clinton (1946), former “Simon & Simon” star Gerald McRaney and former Second Lady Tipper Gore were both born in 1948, former Queen bassist John Deacon (1951), “Commander Riker” aka Jonathan Frakes was born in 1952, former New Orleans Saints kicker Morten Andersen was born in 1960, and former Full House star John Stamos made his world debut in the year 1963 (along with Europe lead singer Joey Tempest…hello, “The Final Countdown”? Anyone?)

Finally, in chronological order of course, former Friends star Matthew Perry turns 44 (1969), rap star Fat Joe was born in 1970, former Smallville villain (Zod) Callum Blue turns a young 36 years old today (1977), Coheed and Cambria bassist Michael Todd was born in 1980, and rapper/actor/b-baller Romeo Miller was born in 1989.
